Camp Carysbrook A Summer To Remember, Established in 1923

Staff...

Quality staff are a critical part of a positive camp experience.  Campers are drawn to the fun activities and programs and the cabin and activity counselors make it happen.  Counselors care for and
mentor your daughter while she’s away at camp.

One of the most important influences in a child's life, besides her parents, are adults with whom they build relationships.  Having positive role models who help them work through opportunities and challenges in a safe and supportive environment will help campers develop into strong young women who make good choices
later in life.

Our staff know how important their role is in this valuable part of youth development.  Many of our staff were former campers.  Not only do they love Camp Carysbrook, they understand the impact this camp and it's community had on their own development.  They want to give to other children what was given to them...a loving, caring community that supports learning and discovery in a safe environment.  They are here because they have a love of children and want to help them become happy and confident adults.

Each year we have about half of our staff return.  The blend of experienced staff and carefully selected new counselors makes a strong and dynamic staff filled with new ideas while rooted in deep traditions.  All of our full time staff must be 18 years old and are certified in 1st Aid and CPR and have completed a criminal background check.  We also have Workers In Training (WIT's) who are 17 and help in cabins and program areas.  All staff spend an intense week prior to camp learning about topics such as positive behavior management, child development, program areas, teaching lessons and the daily "in's & out's" of camp.

We take pride in hiring some of the best staff around.  As parents also, we understand how important their role is at camp.  Being a counselor is more than a job, it requires someone who is passionate about working with kids to help them have fun while remaining safe. Being a camp counselor is the hardest job you will ever love, so if you are a potential staff member...remember only the best need apply!  You can do so here by clicking the link below:
